Inter Milan 3-0 Parma: Nerazzurri Cruise to Victory to Extend Serie A Lead

Inter Milan produced a ruthless first-half display to sweep aside Parma 3-0 at San Siro and move clear at the top of Serie A.
Petar Sucic, Hakan Calhanoglu and Marcus Thuram all scored inside the opening 31 minutes as Cristian Chivu’s side made light work of Alberto Gilardino’s debut in the Parma dugout.
The visitors tried to play out from the back but were punished after just 13 minutes. Goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi’s short pass was intercepted by Sucic, who drove into the box and hammered a powerful left-footed finish past the stranded keeper.
Five minutes later Inter doubled their lead from the penalty spot. Diego Carlos clumsily stood on Pio Esposito’s foot inside the area; after a VAR review, referee Kevin Bonacina pointed to the spot. Calhanoglu, returning from injury, stepped up and drilled his effort under Corvi’s dive.
Parma had no answer as Inter’s midfield controlled the tempo. The third goal arrived on 31 minutes with a sweeping counter-attack. Henrikh Mkhitaryan slid a perfectly weighted through-ball into the path of Thuram, who raced clear from halfway, entered the box and placed a precise angled drive into the far corner. It was the Frenchman’s fifth goal in as many meetings with the club of his birth.
The second half became an exercise in control. Chivu made a raft of changes, including the Serie A debut of English full-back Djed Spence, while Lautaro Martinez and Ange-Yoan Bonny were introduced. Inter created further chances but never needed to force the issue as they managed the game professionally to secure a fifth win in six league matches.
The result lifted the Nerazzurri to 16 points, three clear of Roma and Lazio, while Parma remain on four points. Inter now turn their attention to the Champions League, hosting Club Brugge at San Siro on Tuesday.
