Sira Martínez, daughter of Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique, escapes injury in fatal road accident in Spain

A 20-year-old motorcyclist has died after colliding with a car in which Sira Martínez, the 26-year-old daughter of Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique, was travelling as a passenger in Spain.

The crash occurred on Thursday evening, 8 October, at approximately 20:00-20:25 local time on the N-332 road near Oliva in the province of Valencia, between kilometre markers 209 and 210, heading towards Dénia.

Martínez, a professional equestrian specialising in show jumping, was unhurt, as was the driver of the car – a 41-year-old British Olympic equestrian. Emergency services from the Servicio de Ayuda Médica Urgente (SAMU) attended the scene but were unable to save the motorcyclist, a Spanish national who died at the location of the impact.

The Guardia Civil is investigating the circumstances of the collision. Reports indicate the driver of the Audi Q3 is under investigation on suspicion of causing death by negligence after an alleged unauthorised or illegal manoeuvre. Both the driver and passenger tested negative for alcohol and drugs.

Martínez is the daughter of Luis Enrique and Elena Cullell. She has competed regularly in equestrian events and has spoken of ambitions to represent Spain at the Olympic Games. Luis Enrique previously lost his younger daughter, Xana, who died in 2019 at the age of nine after battling bone cancer.

Spanish media, including reports from À Punt and Europa Press, first confirmed Martínez’s presence in the vehicle. No further official statements from the family or Paris Saint-Germain have been issued at this stage. The investigation continues.
