England 3-0 Czech Republic: Kane Double Seals Nations League Win

Harry Kane marked his record-equalling 125th England cap by being involved in every goal as Thomas Tuchel’s side beat the Czech Republic 3-0 at Wembley in the Nations League.

Kane’s 125th appearance draws him level with Peter Shilton’s all-time record, which had stood for 36 years. He had a hand in all three goals, and it was the third straight Nations League win for England.

The breakthrough came in the 27th minute, and it was a gift. Kane drifted out to the right wing and his cross was put into his own net by Czech defender Vladimir Coufal. That moment loosened a visiting side who had offered little going forward.

Kane doubled the lead himself in the 40th minute, and added a second after the break in the 57th minute, which left the match beyond Czech reach. Reports from the night put his England goal tally at 91.

With the game won, England managed it comfortably. The Czechs found little space to trouble the defence and Jordan Pickford was rarely tested late on, and Trent Alexander-Arnold sent a long-range effort high over the bar as England looked for a fourth.

The result ends a lengthy international break on a high for Tuchel. It keeps England in the race for top spot in their Nations League group, which also includes Spain and Croatia. It also leaves Kane one cap from sole ownership of Shilton’s record.
